12:35 – 12:45 Private Land Conservation Tools across Europe: leases and stewardship contracts. Joan Pons (INSTA Jurídic)
Which are the most promising tool for private land conservation across Europe? And what are land stewardship and conservation lease contracts? We address what these two popular tools to promote private land conservation in Spain and Germany are.
12:45 – 13:00 Legal framework of land stewardship contracts. Anabel Cepas (Xarxa per a la Conservació de la Natura)
Legal framework of land stewardship contracts in Spain and Catalonia. A flexible tool to promote nature conservation.
13:00 – 13:45 Structure and content of contracts: hands on role play. A case study on land stewardship contracts
Together we will explore the structure of land stewardship contracts. What are main obstacles to promote private land conservation from the perspective of landowners and nature conservation organizations? This would be the participatory part. We aim to divide the audience in round tables of 5-6 people on which we would have 2 separated groups. One representing landowners and one representing a stewardship organization. We would provide a description of the nature conservation objectives, the landscape contexts and a description of the characters (landowners and NGO). Based on that participants would have to fill in a land stewardship contract model and highlight main obstacles.
13:45 – 14:00 Closing of the workshop. Mathias Brummer (Xarxa per a la Conservació de la Natura)
